ABDOMINAL SURGERY (Dermolipectomy)

With aging, repeated pregnancies, alternating periods of weight gain and loss, there happens a flaccid bulging of the abdominal wall, caused by excess fat and mainly excess skin.

Dermolipectomy remodels the abdomen by removing the excess tissue (skin and fat) accumulated below the navel and also by adjusting the loose muscular belt. It is not a surgical procedure for losing weight, but for remodeling the abdomen.

TUMMY TUCK – ABDOMINOPLASTY

Patients who are not excessively overweight sometimes have problem areas, like bulging stomachs or flabby, folded skin around the abdomen. Abdominal reduction treats these problems by removing excess skin and fatty tissue and tightening the abdominal muscles. Stretch marks on the lower abdomen are also removed and/or made less conspicuous.

LIPOSUCTION

Women tend to accumulate excessive fat pads, in a typical pattern, around the buttocks, hips, thighs, knees and lower abdomen.

This fat is notoriously difficult to remove and does not seem to respond to diet or exercise. Inherited tendencies to store fat in these specific areas are hard to overcome. The value of the liposuction technique is that it can be used to improve the body’s contours in these otherwise difficult areas.

FACE LIFT

Face lift can help minimise the effects of aging by smoothing out lines and wrinkles and by tightening up loose skin on the face and neck. The operation is performed through incisions, which begin just inside the hairline, descending in front of and behind the ears, following the natural folds and creases of the skin, ending in the scalp at the back of the head. The skin is lifted from the underlying tissues (and in some cases pockets of fat are removed and sagging tissues are tightened) before the skin is redraped to fit the natural contours of the face. The excess skin is removed and the incisions are closed with a combination of staples fine sutures, and surgical glue. The staples are used in preference to sutures, inside the hairline, so as not interfere with hair growth.

BREAST AUGMENTATION

The smallness of the breasts may be due to failure of development at puberty or excessive atrophy after childbearing.

This can be corrected by placing an implant behind the existing breast tissue. The prothesis is usually inserted through a very small incision placed in the areola. The resulting scar is very small and is almost invisible.

BREAST LIFT

Sometimes a woman's breasts begin to sag and droop, either in the aftermath of pregnancy, from weight loss or as a result of premature aging. The skin and the ligaments that support the breasts begin to stretch and the breasts lose their youthful shape. If the breasts are small and sagging is minimal, then the problem can be solved by inserting an implant to produce elevation and enlargement. If the breasts are adequate in size but the drooping is severe, then breast elevation is required. In this procedure, excess skin is removed and the nipple is re-sited at a better position in the new, younger profile breasts.

BREAST REDUCTION

Women with heavy breasts frequently suffer from back pain, shoulder ache or chronic irritation of the skin beneath the breasts. There are often painful grooves over the shoulder, caused by bra straps. These physical problems are enough in themselves, but in addition to this there is social embarrassment and mental anguish.
Breast reduction surgery can minimise these effects.

NOSE SURGERY (Rhinoplasty)

Rhinoplasty is nasal surgery performed to improve the appearance of the nose, in order to achieve better facial harmony. The procedure varies from patient to patient depending on the type and degree of change determined by both the surgeon and the patient.

Nasal cosmetic surgery is performed under general anaesthetic, through incisions made inside the nose.

EYE SURGERY (Blepharoplasty)

Unsightly changes around the eyes are not necessarily linked with aging, they can occur in relatively young people. The eye is surrounded by a layer of fat, which is unique in the body in that it swells when a person is tired. The fat cannot swell upwards or downwards or backwards because of the bony walls of the orbit so it projects forwards into the eyelids.

The operation of lower blepharoplasty involves a cut just below the lower eyelid margin and a little to side of the eye. Excess fat is removed and excess skin is trimmed to conform to the new contour.

BUTT LIFTING AND AUGMENTATION

Loosing weight and/or aging will give the buttocks a flaccid and ptotic appearance.

A texturized silicon implant is inserted throgh the gluteos muscles, giving back the firm and round shape peculiar to young people.

EAR RESHAPING (Otoplasty)

Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. For the most part, the operation is done on children between the ages of four and 14. Ears are almost fully grown by age four, and the earlier the surgery, the less teasing and ridicule the child will have to endure. Ear surgery on adults is also possible, and there are generally no additional risks associated with ear surgery on an older patient.

ARM LIFT (Brachioplasty)

An arm lift, also known as brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove loose skin and excess fat deposits in the upper arm. With age, upper arm skin can become loose and flabby. Plastic surgeons will discuss brachioplasty with patients who want to tighten this skin and look as good as they feel. In some cases your plastic surgeon may suggest that liposuction be used alone or in conjunction with an arm lift to remove excess fat in the upper arms.

THIGH SURGERY

After marked weight loss or alternating periods of weight gain and loss, very often there is a flaccid bulging on the internal region of the thighs. This is due to the excess skin which forms as a consequence of stretching during the overweight period. As the skin on the internal region of the thigh is relatively thin, it does not retract sufficiently after weight loss, leading to the localized excess skin. Thigh dermolipectomy aims at removing this excess skin, providing a more natural e less flaccid thigh silhouette.

CHIN SURGERY (Mentoplasty)

The chin is one of the major reference elements in the aesthetic study of the face.

The ideal chin should be positioned within some aesthetic limits, compounding harmonically with the other parts of the face, such as the nose, the eyes, the mouth, etc.

The chin may be projecting or receding in relation to its ideal position. In both cases the surgical correction is possible.

The most common form of mentoplasty is designed to correct the receding chin (backwards position), by inserting a silicon prosthesis or any other available device belonging to the surgical armamentarium.

FOREHEAD LIFT SURGERY

The effects of aging are inevitable, and, often, the brow and forehead area show the first signs. The skin begins to lose its elasticity. Sun, wind, and the pull of gravity all affect the face, resulting in frown lines, wrinkling across the forehead, and an increasing heaviness of the eyebrows. Even people in their thirties may have faces that look older than their years. Your tired, angry, or sad expression may not reflect how you actually feel. As a result, many people have opted for a procedure known as the forehead lift. Based on variations in how men and women age and on new advances in medical technology, different methods are used to perform this procedure.

Plastic Surgery involves practicing technically demanding surgery that is also an art. Our primary aspiration with our knowledge and experience is to help our patients understand what can be done, fully inform them as to benefits and risks and perform the surgery with the highest standards.
